Introducing The Author
The author was born in the suburb of Adamstown, in the city of Newcastle, a steel making city at the mouth of the Hunter River in New South Wales, Australia. He was born to poor parents only a few months before Japan entered World War II, thus entering this lifetime in a world engaged in the greatest war in recorded history. His childhood, by contrast, was quiet and unremarkable, and he went on to complete his education at Newcastle, obtaining a B.Sc. (Technology).
He has since worked predominantly in the mining industry in many roles including research, development, and supervision. For the last 16 years, while based on a farm in north-eastern NSW, he has been a successful senior but independent consultant to the mining industry, and specialises in the field of mineral processing.
This is the surface part of his life. He seems to have inherited from his mother's forbears an intense interest in the creator of the universe, and, in particular, an abiding interest in the continuing moulding of the human species by our creator. He has tended to regard his career as being merely a means of providing the wherewithal to pursue his true personal interests, rather than as an end in itself. Nevertheless, since he likes to do things well, he has had notable success in that engineering career.
From about the age of twelve he despaired of obtaining believable answers to his questions from the supposed experts in the established religions, and he set out on a lifetime search for what he calls the truth He has had an enduring interest in the fundamental basis of all religions, and in the reasons why normally sane, reasonable people can be manipulated by evangelistic types to become hysterical, utterly irrational, and frequently murderous. This has too often been the case for it to be easily ignored, and classic examples of it occur in all sects, even in that ages old religion known as Socialism.
This manuscript is really a few extracts from the author's findings from four decades of private study in a wide range of fields, research that has involved the careful sifting through of a very extensive supply of books and technical journals of very diverse types. Rightly or wrongly, the author has felt that he has been guided in his investigations by the creator that he was trying to learn about.
Because his career requires the writing of concise, accurate and adequately documented reports to people familiar with technical jargon, the author has been at somewhat of a loss in writing booklets for more general popular consumption, his normal style being considered very heavy by the average reader. This has led to a number of painstaking revisions of this manuscript and other booklets in order to obtain a more easily read document.
